By joining IBO Italia's child sponsorship project, you can truly help a child to realize his/her dreams: to live in peace and in good health and to receive an education that gives them the opportunity to choose to live in their hometown or somewhere else.

Child sponsorship is a form of international cooperation that unites solidarity and responsibility because it goes beyond the fleetingness of an single gesture. It attempts to create continuity, transforming a donation into a relationship, a way of "being with others."

With an annual commitment, you will take care the fate of children and minors that are in a state of risk, poverty and marginalization, without taking them of out their context or values; on the contrary, you will make the entire community that they live in grow.

Areas of Intervention of IBO Italia's Child Sponsorship Projects

India

IBO Italia's child sponsorship project began in 1998 in collaboration with the Mundgod Jesuit missions in the state of Karnataka. The program aims to guarantee scholastic career of children who attend the Loyola Primary School and High School and the Loyola Vikas Kendra Youth Center. Since 2004, the project has expanded to involved the Manvi Jesuit mission, the Loyola Pragati Kendra, in the Raichur district in the state of Karnataka. At Christmastime of 2009, IBO Italia began to sponsor children from the Nava Sannidhya Center in Bijapur.

Romania

Since 2001, IBO Italia, along with the Rom Pentru Rom local organization, has been working in Panciu, a city that lies 200 kilometers north of Bucharest. In 2006, the Pinochio Educational Day Center was opened and serves as a resource center for minors in need, especially those from the Rom community. At the center, they can find a welcoming and open atmosphere with reading activities, school help, theater, recreational games, and awareness courses regarding peace and the environment.

How to Join

Contribution

The annual contribution is 300 euros; you can make one full payment or pay two installments, one every six months. 50 euros of the contribution will go to administration costs and 250 euros will be sent directly on site.

Duration

The economic commitment is for one year, but the commitment can be renewed each year, accompanying the minors as they grow.

Joining Procedure

To join the child sponsorship project, please complete the membership form and send it via fax or regular mail to our headquarters (Via Montebello 46/a - 44121 Ferrara, Fax 0532.245689). The requested contribution can be sent through the postal payment n. 11817442 or to the bank account IT88Z 06155 13000 000000034179, indicating that the money should go towards the child sponsorship program in the memo (child sponsorship - country - city). Along with the child sponsorship membership form, please attach a copy of the receipt of payment and send it to IBO Italia.
