DIRECTION
DINO MONTANARI - Director
Dino was born in Ferrara on March 8th, 1968. He attended the Faculty of Letters and Philosophy where in 1995 he obtained a degree in Education. Since the beginning of the 1990s, Dino has been occupied with the organization and management of volunteer youth work camps in Italy and throughout the world, collaborating with the Mato Grosso Operation (l'Operazione Mato Gross) and IBO Italy. As a result of his involvement these organizations, he has traveled to various European countries (Holland, Germany, Hungary, Belgium, France, Spain, England, Croatia, Slovenia and Austria). He has participated in various training courses connected with youth exchanges, fund raising, presentation of projects to institutions, and non-profit management. From 1996 to 2000 he was responsible for IBO Italy's work camps and in 2000 assumed the position of director of IBO Italy.
VOLUNTEER WORK
SABINA MARCHETTI - Work and Solidarity Camps
Sabina was born in Ferrara on June 7th, 1970. She obtained a degree in Accouting and Bookkeeping from the Vicenzo Monti Institute in 1989. She first came in contact with IBO Italy in 2000 working as a secretary and has continued to collaborate with the organization, becoming responsible for the management and promotion of work and solidarity camps. She also is responsible for the child sponsorship project.
ELISA SQUARZONI - European Voluntary Service
Elisa was born in Ferrara on July 26th, 1979. She obtained a degree in Foreign Languages and Literature at the University of Ferrara in 2003. Elisa became acquainted with IBO Italy in 2004 through a post-graduate internship at the organization's communications office. Afterwards, she continued her work at IBO through the National Civil Service in the EVS (European Voluntary Service) sector until being officially hired by IBO. Today, Elisa manages IBO's involvement in the EVS program, managing the coordinating and hosting aspects of the program.
ERMELINDA PITTELLI - European Voluntary Service
Ermelinda was born in Catanzaro on November 26th, 1982. She obtained a degree in Tourist Services at the P. Giordani Institute of Parma in 2000. She is currently enrolled in the Development and International Cooperation degree program in the Faculty of Political Science at the University of Bologna. She came into contact with IBO Italy in 2004 through her participation in the planning sector of the National Civil Service. Her current work at IBO focuses on the hosting and sending aspects of the EVS (European Voluntary Service) program.
SONIA SANTUCCI - Civil Service
Sonia was born in Portomaggiore on June 1st, 1979. She obtained a degree in International Relations with a focus on the politics of development from the R. Ruffilli Faculty of Politcal Science at the University of Bologna in 2007. During the same year she took a course in International Law in Armed Conflict and External Peace-Keeping Operations. Her work at IBO began as a result of her involvement as a volunteer civil service. She started her professional career in 2004 as a fair trade business operator at the Alternative Business Cooperative Society (Società Cooperativa Commercio Alternativo) of Ferrara. Sonia first came into contact with IBO in 2007 thanks to her experience with the National Civil Service, during which she worked closely with the managers of the Civil Service and the European Voluntary Service office. Once she finished her period of volunteer work, she was hired by IBO as manager of the Civil Service office.
INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION
FEDERICA GRUPPIONI - International Cooperation (Coordinator)
Federica was born in Ferrara on June 5th, 1976. She obtained a degree in Political Economics from the Faculty of Economics at the University of Bologna in 2001. In additon, she obtained a Master's degree in Management of Development at the International Training Center of the International Labour Organization of Torino in 2004. She currently manages the international cooperation aspects of the Africa and Asia projects.
MARIA GIOVANNA SPELTINI - International Cooperation
Maria Giovanna was born in Borgonovo Val Tidone on June 9th, 1953. She attended the University of Pavia where she obtained a degree in Foreign Languages and Literature in 1977. She first became acquainted with IBO Italy in 1992 through her participation in an educational project in Cote d'Ivoire. She continued her experience with LTM (Laici Terzo Mondo di Napoli), working for two years in Benin as an expert in recreational activities for women. Maria Giovanna then returned to collaborate with IBO Italy through mission trips that she carried out to evaluate projects. Since 2001, she has been a part of the group Selectors of Focsiv (a federation that IBO is a part of). Since 2005, she has worked with IBO and with Focsiv in the selection and training of volunteers. She is also a member of the Executive Board of IBO Italy.
MANUELA DI SPALDRO - International Cooperation (expatriate/representative of Peru)
Manuela was born in Luino (Varese) on November 2nd, 1978. She obtained a degree in Political Science from the R. Ruffilli di Forlì Faculty at the University of Bologna. She received a graduate certificate in European Planning for International Cooperation. She began her experience with IBO Italy through a post-graduate internship. She them continued to collaborate with the organization as a volunteer in the National Civil Service in the planning field. After these experiences, Manuela was hired in 2008 by IBO in the field of international cooperation as the manager of the Latin America office.
MARIANGELA MILAN - Child Sponsorship e Responsible Tourism
Mariangela was born in Arquà Polesino on December 7th, 1957. She has been an IBO volunteer since 1996. Since 2001, she has worked with the child sponsorship program, which is based in southern India in the state of Karnataka. This year, she has also been involved in the field of responsible tourism.
SERVICES
CRISTINA MONTANARI - Secretary and Accountant
Cristina was born in Bondeno Fe on May 16th, 1964. She obtained a degree in Accounting at the Vicenzo Monti Institute of Ferrara in 1982. Afterwards, she participated in various training courses in the information field at the Professional Training Center of Ferrara and worked for many years in the administative field. She came into contact with IBO Italy in 2004, spending a year as a volunteer at the communications office of the association. Cristina was then hired in 2006 as an employee of the accounting and secretary office as an accountant. She recently attended an advanced professional training course in International Development Cooperation for Non-Profit Workers, organized by the Association of Italian NGOs.
MONICA QUESTIOLI - Public Relations and Fundraising - Internships
Monica was born on January 1st, 1972. She attended the Faculty of Letters and Philosophy of Ferrara where she graduated in 1999 with a degree in Education. In 2003, she obtained a Master's degree in Human Resource Management and Business Training at the HKE Institue of Modena. She began her work with IBO in the same year through an internship, working with the European Voluntary Service and internships. After her training period, Monica was hired by IBO as manager of the press office. She has held this position for four years and, in 2008, she began to manage public relations and fund raising, as well as internships.
GIACOMO LOCCI - Press and Communications Office
Giacamo was born in Pisa on October 15th, 1981. He attended the University of Pisa where he obtained a degree in International Relations from the Faculty of Political Science. In 2006, he participated in the Leonardo project in Lisbon through which he worked with a solidarity and social communication association. He first came into contact with IBO through his participation in the early 1990s in work camps organized by the association and years later in 2006/2007, he chose IBO as the organization through which he would join the National Civil Service, where he came into direct contact with the work camps. After finishing this experience, he was hired by the organization in 2008 as the manager of the Press and Communications Office. In 2008, he participated in the seminar "Social Editor" organized by Capo d'Arco community.
GIULIO CHERUBINI - Web site
Giulio was born in Paschino (Siracusa) on August 19th, 1946. After graduating with a degree in Economics and Business from the University of Messina, he worked in various Italian cities. After retiring, he took a training course for volunteer work in the social health field at the Avulss Association of Ferrara, and from 2005 to 2008 he traveled periodically to Burkina Faso to work as a volunteer with the Institute of the Brothers of the Sacred Family of Chieri (l'Istituto dei Fratelli della Sacra Famiglia di Chieri). In 2003, he became a member of IBO and since 2007, he has chosen to become more closely involved with IBO by working to create a new web site for the association, which is currently being completed.
PIERLUIGI COMI - Information Assistant
Pierluigi was born in Villa d'Adda (Bergamo) on April 15th, 1949. He obtained a degree in mathematics. He became acquainted with IBO Italy in 1969 through a work and solidarity camp in France. He continues to collaborate with IBO as a volunteer in the computer/information sector of the organization and is also a member of the Executive Board.
